Kratom For Sleep: Using Kratom For Insomnia A Good Idea?

Kratom definitely has a range of positive benefits. One of those potential benefits is helping with sleep deprivation, which is why lots of people explore the topic of what the best kratom for sleep is.

When we talk about the best kratom strain for sleep, we’re talking about using kratom for insomnia. But it can help with sleep deprivation that can happen for a variety of reasons.

So what’s the deal? Do the positive benefits of kratom mean it can be used to help with sleeping problems? Well, I’ve got some experience with this, so let’s talk about whether it’s a real possibility, and give you some tips, should you want to experiment with getting better sleep using kratom.

Can Kratom Help For Insomnia?

So the first question that needs answering has to be does using kratom for insomnia work, and if so why?

Kratom has some indisputable positive properties:

  • Kratom can deal with anxiety. Some green strains, and red kratom definitely, can calm people down considerably. It can chill you out, take away stress, keep you focused, and create emotional happiness.
  • Kratom can bring physical pain relief. So if you’re struggling with physical pain then red kratom especially is very powerful as an analgesic.
  • At higher doses nearly all kratom strains are sedative. But some red strains are sedative much lower doses.

So as you can see, kratom targets the three things which can cause insomnia. That’s why using kratom for sleep deprivation is a viable option.

A lot of the reason people have insomnia is anxiety. They can’t switch off their brains, the heart races, and the worries they have to overwhelm them, meaning they cannot just close their eyes and feel peaceful enough to sleep. Kratom lessons anxiety, and even at quite a low dose, it can significantly calm you down.

A lot of people suffer from sleep deprivation because of physical pain, bad backs, sciatica, things like that. This is something I have suffered with in the past. Using kratom for insomnia because of physical pain reasons is definitely an option, because of its analgesic properties.

Plus, some strains of red kratom are more highly sedative than others, so picking the right strain can improve your chances of sleep, on top of the two reasons we’ve just talked about.

What Kratom Helps With Sleep?

Let’s first talk about the kratom you shouldn’t use to help with sleep, because not every strain is suitable the helping with sleep deprivation.

White kratom should definitely be avoided. It’s most stimulating and uplifting. You will not feel tired and it could increase your anxiety. White kratom will make you want to do the opposite of sleep.

For the same reasons, most strains of green kratom should be avoided as well. Although they are mild, they tend to be more stimulating than reds. At higher doses, most green kratom becomes increasingly sedative and calming, but we want to stay away from a high-dose is where possible.

So that leaves us with red kratom. But not all red kratom is suitable the helping with insomnia.

Red Thai kratom and Red Maeng Da kratom are quite strong, and can also stimulate as they calm you down. So although you will be chilled out, and at higher doses sedated, at lower doses, you will feel chilled out, the pain will be relieved, but you will also have increased focus and energy, which is not what you want if you are using kratom for insomnia.

I would suggest you experiment with Red Borneo, Red Indo and red Bali kratom for sleep deprivation. Those the three strains which I turn to.

Kratom Dosage For sleep

It doesn’t matter what you are using kratom for, it’s advisable to try and only use the minimum dose you need. Any more, and you start to build a tolerance.

On top of that, the higher the dose, the more extreme the effects will be, and that can cause more problems than it solves.

If you can get hold of pure kratom, and you don’t have any unusual physical or mental health problems, then a rough kratom dosage for sleeping, of calming, soothing, red kratom, to try and decide which is the best kratom for sleep, would be as follows:

  • A beginner does 2-3 grams
  • A moderate dose of 4-5 grams
  • High dose of 6-7 grams

Although you can take more than 5 grams, 6 or 7 might be okay occasionally, if you are having to smash 6 or more grams of pure kratom every night just get sleep, then that’s a path you really don’t want to go down. It will create tolerance and dependence.

The bottom line is that unless there are extreme circumstances, 3-5 grams of pure red kratom should be more than enough to cure anxiety, stop physical pain, and relax you enough so that you can get some sleep.

Recommended Kratom Strains For Sleep

So as you now understand, not all strains are suitable the helping with insomnia. If you are going to be using kratom for insomnia, it’s best to start with three red strains most closely associated with relieving anxiety, relieving physical pain, and creating mild sedation, but that are not associated with also injecting energy and focus, which could be counter-productive.

So I would start with Red Borneo, Red Indo, and Red Bali when beginning to experiment with kratom the sleep deprivation.

Your best bet would be to buy a variety pack from a trusted kratom seller that contains all three strains recommended here. That way, you can try a couple of grams of each, to see what helps most.

Remember, the best kratom for sleep is a low dose of kratom which doesn’t inject energy into your body.

Also, kratom can create tolerance. If you are having to use it every night, then there’s a bigger problem that can’t be dampened down with kratom. So sure, a couple of times a week, using kratom for insomnia is brilliant, but if you’re having to use kratom every night, then that’s a bigger issue that will need a bigger solution.
