Janet Trautwein, executive vice president and CEO of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU), was named on the “100 Most Powerful People in the Insurance Industry” by Insurance Newscast. The recognition is given to the 100 people who have made extraordinary and significant contributions to the insurance industry with their innovations in the development and advancement of insurance products, services, and systems. 

Dr. Ron Loeppke has joined U.S. Preventive Medicine as vice chairman of the board. Loeppke will work with the organization’s senior management team to implement key growth strategies and global initiatives. He will also continue in his role as co-chairman of the National Advisory Board. He formerly was executive vice president of health and productivity strategy at Alere. He also served as founder, president, and CEO of the Health and Productivity Corporation of America (HPCA). 

Carol Gonzalez has been named vice president of sales at Unisource Program Administrators (UPA), a workers’ compensation wholesaler with a processing office in Sarasota, FL. Gonzalez has been in the property and casualty insurance industry for more than eight years, beginning her career in workers’ compensation in 2001. Her experience includes agency management, underwriting, policy administration, marketing and sales, and carrier and state workers’ compensation regulations. 

EPIC (Edgewood Partners Insurance Center) has made several key appointments. Dana Liedel is principal and corporate development officer in EPIC’s San Francisco office. An insurance industry and human resources consulting veteran, Liedel has an extensive background in marketing and brand creation. She also specializes in product development, new business production and individual sales success. Kenyon C. Hall has been named principal in the firm’s Atlanta office. For the past 10 years, Hall has specialized in the design, placement, and management of complex property insurance programs for companies facing catastrophic exposures. These companies include clients in the real estate, retail, manufacturing and construction industries. David R. Bloodgood, certified insurance counselor and registered workers compensation specialist, has joined the Orange office as assistant vice president and producer. Bloodgood brings more than 13 years of experience in the production of new business with both direct writers and retail insurance brokers, specializing in designing insurance and risk management solutions for companies with adverse workers compensation exposures. 

Consumer Health Technologies Inc. has named Robert Rydell as vice president of product development, and Constance Sjoquist as vice president of TPA sales. Sjoquist will expand CHT’s strategic alliances, enabling the company to better serve the rapidly expanding CDHC market. 

Tommy Thompson, former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, has joined Liazon as an adviser. In that role, Thompson will contribute his broad health care experience and significant stature among health care policy-makers to further awareness of Liazon’s approach to employee benefits. Erin Krehbiel has rejoined aCI Specialty Benefits as senior vice president of marketing and product development. Krehbiel will oversee global marketing initiatives, corporate branding, and product development, primarily focusing on ACI’s new student assistance program, SOAR: Student Outreach, Assistance, Resources. 

James S. Swift has been named chairman and CEO of Holmes Murphy & Associates. Swift succeeds Doug Reichardt, who was recently named chairman emeritus as part of the organization’s planned leadership perpetuation strategy. No additional leadership changes are planned. 

Christine Hoehne has joined Lockton Benefit Group as an account executive in its Minneapolis office. Prior to joining Lockton, Hoehne spent eight years as an account executive for the Americas region of All Net, the international employee benefits network of the Allianz Group. 

Benetrac, a Paychex company, has hired Patrick Baldwin as regional sales director for the greater Los Angeles area and promoted Chris Knight to field sales manager. Knight joined BeneTrac in November 2000 and previously held the position of regional sales director. Baldwin is assuming Knight’s former position. Knight was the company’s top producer for fiscal year 2009. Baldwin will work with brokers, carriers, human resources professionals, and benefits administrators. 

Sleep Solutions Inc. has named Dr. Richard Hassett as its chief executive officer. Hassett was most recently president of Matria Healthcare during its growth from a $250 million health care holding company into a $350 million industry leader in total population health. Hassett joined SSI’s board of directors last winter and had been closely working with the management team during its CEO search. 

Keenan & Associates has announced the addition of Jim Madaffer and Mary Frances Callan to its advisory board. The Keenan Advisory Board, initiated in 2005, includes a group of distinguished leaders in the health care field who provide deep resources to assist the company in monitoring and responding to key industry trends and best practice innovations. Madaffer is president of Madaffer Enterprises, a consulting firm specializing in government and corporate relations, technology, transportation, health, public safety, economic stimulus, insurance, and governmental efficiency/reform. Callan worked as a teacher, counselor, administrator, and most recently superintendent of schools for the Palo Alto Unified School District before retiring in 2007. 

Dr. Susan S. Wilder has been named medical director for Concierge Choice Physicians. Wilder is a practicing primary care physician in suburban Phoenix, a noted author, lecturer, and respected advocate for patient-centered health care reform. In October, she was among the 150 physicians invited to the White House to discuss President Obama’s proposed health plan. 

Richard “Dick” B. Fellows Jr., JD, llM, joins ERISA Fiduciary Advisors Inc. as the NE managing director responsible for sales and consulting to plan sponsors in the Boston area. Fellows has made his career building the investment and retirement planning divisions of some of the most respected qualified retirement planning companies in the industry. His prior experience includes working with firms such as Fidelity, First Mercantile Trust, Loomis-Sayles, and Mercer. 

Lisa Rehburg has been named vice president of national sales for Quotit Corp., an Internet application service provider for the health insurance and employee benefits industry. Rehburg previously served as vice president of national sales for Quotit’s sister company, Word & Brown General Agency. 

Dr. Jocelyn Sivalingam has joined health advocate as a medical director. Sivalingam brings a wealth of clinical expertise to Health Advocate, having participated in a group practice with Bryn Mawr Medical Specialists from June 2006 until December 2009. Previously, she operated an infectious disease consultative practice at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital from 1992 through 2005. 

Von Peterson has been promoted to senior vice president of Securian’s group life insurance unit, replacing veteran Jim Johnson, who will retire this year. Peterson joined the company in 1996 as a sales manager and moved to the group division in 1998. Most recently, he has been responsible for client relationships, including 12 service offices around the country and a highly successful sales team with eight nationwide locations.
