CIGNA International Launches Envoy Web Portal To Help Doctors, Hospitals Better Serve Expatriate Pat

CIGNA International launched the CIGNA Envoy Web Portal to help doctors and hospitals within the CIGNA International network better serve expatriate patients.


Claymont, Del., June 15, 2009 - CIGNA International launched the CIGNA Envoy Web Portal to help doctors and hospitals within the CIGNA International network better serve expatriate patients. The portal is a gateway to information for health care professionals worldwide and is the third stage of CIGNA Envoy, a state-of-the-art secure website (www.CIGNAenvoy.com) designed for all those served by CIGNA International.
     The first of its kind, CIGNA Envoy simplifies access to care around the globe, providing health care professionals with instant coverage details and benefits so they can quickly provide patient care. Through CIGNA Envoy, doctors and hospitals can also provide payment information to patients at the time of service.
     The CIGNA Envoy Web Portal was released today to select high-volume doctors and hospitals within the CIGNA International network, and will be introduced in a phased approach over the next year to other health care professionals.

     Health care professionals contracted with CIGNA International will receive an ID and temporary PIN in order to use CIGNA Envoy. Once logged on to the website, they may view and confirm coverage for expatriates, streamlining the benefits verification process and minimizing waiting times for patients. Among Envoy’s features are downloadable claims forms in multiple languages.
     Envoy was first launched in 2008 with advanced web tools to help ease benefits administration for employers and to enable individuals to access benefit information anywhere in the world. The website includes mobile medical translation tools, podcasts, printable medical ID cards, and online benefits enrollment.
