Strong Leader at the Helm

Over the past few years, Lighthouse1 has grown from a fledgling company running on a bleeding edge platform to the one of the largest subscription-based health care software firms in the United States.

Today, Lighthouse1 processes more than $1.3 billion in reimbursements and supports more than 2 million consumers.

Although he is currently executive vice president of strategic planning and business development, Jeff Bakke has filled many roles at the CDHC solutions provider.

Lighthouse1 OnDemand operates on a “Software as a Service” platform, one that only in the last few years has proved itself for consumer-based software solutions. As Lighthouse1 has grown, Bakke has been a key force in managing the growth and stability of the Lighthouse1 platform as well as the growth of the company. His experiences at both a major health care provider and a technology-consulting firm give him the unique ability to understand the needs of the industry, while applying creative solutions to problems within the technology.

“I think it’s easy to excel when you are part of the kind of team we have at Lighthouse1,” says Bakke. “I always try to do more than my share of the ‘heavy lifting’ because I would never want to let these folks down. We’ve accomplished so much over the years, but there’s still so much more we can do.”

Because of Bakke, many of the unavoidable growing pains have been kept to a minimum at Lighthouse1. As for the pains that did occur, Bakke has always been there to dive into the problem and help the team envision a solution.

As the health care industry changes and government intervention looms closer, Bakke has become a key knowledge source regarding the administration’s health care reform policies and the likely responses of health care providers.

Understanding the trends and proposed future of the industry is keeping Lighthouse1 on track despite possible bends in the road, and this is largely due to Bakke’s work.
