MICHIGAN FIRM GREAT LAKES EMPLOYEE BENEFIT SERVICES JOINS BENEFIT ADVISORS NETWORK

Benefits Advisors Network, the premier national network of independent benefit advisory and consulting companies, has named its newest member

CLEVELAND, OH (8/25/10) --- Benefit Advisors Network (BAN) – the premier national network of independent benefit advisory and consulting companies – has named Troy, Michigan’s Great Lakes Employee Benefit Services, Inc. (GLEBS) as the newest member of the elite organization.

BAN selects members that distinguish themselves from their competitors through their knowledge of the industry, ethical approach and strategic vision.

“Recent studies show the unique collaboration between BAN members results in the firms producing 65% higher revenues per employee than their peers,” said BAN Director, Deane Elek. “Our members have an understanding of what local employers need and want, while taking advantage of the resources that our national network provides.”

GLEBS – a health and welfare benefits brokerage and consulting firm targeting the mid-market - was founded in 1997 by Joe Coan and Jim Scoggin. While GLEBS is primarily focused on southeast Michigan, about half of their clients are headquartered or have major divisions outside of the state.

“We are focused on maximizing the quality of our services and growing the size of our firm. We feel that membership in BAN will provide our firm with the relationships and resources to move this goal forward,” said Joe Coan, Founder of Great Lakes Employee Benefit Services.

Coan continues, “As Health Care Reform moves forward, we anticipate an increased demand for our services, which means an even greater opportunity to collaborate and work closely with our fellow BAN partners – all of whom are focused on providing high quality work and innovative solutions.”

BAN selects only one firm per market or market segment to join their exclusive organization. Membership represents a prestigious validation that a firm has been recognized as the “best of the best” in its particular geographic market. The unique collaborative structure and philosophy allow members to share best practices, unencumbered by concern about the presence of their competitors.
