After our session I felt very excited. Everything seemed quite clear. One of my long time issues has been negative self talk and as a result of that low self esteem. After peeling away some layers I was surprised that I felt self love was the issue more then my weight, or any other issues I have. If I could just find a way to love myself then it seems to me everything else would fall into place.

One of the suggestions Meg gave me was to ask those around me what they thought my strengths were. After I thought about that for a day or 2 it started to seem a bit more threatening then I had first anticipated. I started with my 17 year old son. He told me he thought my strengths were communication, problem solving and organizing fun family events. Hmm I had to think about that for a while. I didn't know what he would say but I wasn't expecting that.

I started to realize there was a whole new way of thinking out there that I had never thought to tap into. I believe by asking those I trust what my strengths are and working on them more will help me to start to appreciate what I can bring to others, and myself. Taking positive action, with time and practice should help ward off the negative self talk and its effects.

I also committed to working out 3 days this week. I'm glad to report that so far I'm on track.

My next step is to explore strengths, mine and those around me. I will start at home and when I feel more confident I will move into the workplace. Concentrating on this aspect of myself gives me a whole new outlook on where I'm going and who I am. Finally thinking about something other then my body makes it feel that much more real and important. It gives me a direction that is finally outside my head and into the world where a real difference can be made.
