This week we meet Charlotte, owner of a yoga therapy and stress management center and nationally accredited yoga teacher training school.

Charlotte's career is based on techniques for balance and slowing down - but, like for so many of us, that is easier said than done, even for the experts!

The Question
The question Charlotte brought to consider was “How can I find time for fitness and fun with my husband while also managing a successful business that I love?” And, Charlotte believed the missing puzzle piece was a strategy for better time management.

The Approach
Instead of digging into the “problem,” we began with a tour of her 5 signature strengths – those traits which come to her most naturally and leave her most fulfilled.

Charlotte completed the character strength assessment at www.authentichappiness.com. First on the list were curiosity, creativity, and the love of learning. We enjoyed exploring the ways that these strengths are in action in her life – and Charlotte thought about ways that she is successful in finding balance now.

If This, Then...
When we began to talk about the challenge of getting her business “in order,” Charlotte was better prepared for questions - “How can you engage your curiosity, or creativity, or love of learning to get your work life more organized? How could you reframe your business tasks so they feel more like an adventure?”

The Pros and Cons
But, Charlotte still feeling a little “stuck” and not sure if she was ready to plan for action steps just yet. So, we took a look at the reasons for organizing – and for not organizing. This check in on the pros and cons helped her gain some confidence that the reasons to take action outweighed the reasons not to.

A New View
And, from there, we began to think about how her goals would look if they were an adventure rather than a chore; a puzzle to be mastered rather than a problem to be solved. The perspective shift led Charlotte to set a few realistic, yet powerful goals. And as you will see, next week, inspired her to look for more ways to use her strengths...
