Wellness Coaches USA Releases '2011 Employer Outcomes Study'


Blue Bell, PA.  Wellness Coaches USA is excited to release this summary of our “2011 Employer Outcomes Study” which details our employee “engagement” and “health risk factor improvement” results from 2009-2011.  These results, achieved through the implementation of our proprietary and powerful “engagement focused” onsite wellness coaching methodology, sets the industry standard for the very definition of workplace wellness success – that is, truly large-scale improvement in employee population health risk factors.
 
Our proven capability to consistently achieve such outstanding improvement flows from our distinctively potent integration of the two critical requirements for employee population wellness success; (1) exceptionally high employee engagement levels and, (2) our state-of-the-art onsite, face-to-face wellness coaching process developed to accommodate the logistical requirements of onsite delivery.
 
The summary information provided below covers approximately 50,000 eligible lives at over 300 client locations in 30 states.  Client locations considered for this analysis include only those that were utilizing our onsite coaching services for each of the past 3 years (2009, 2010 and 2011).  Our 2011 results not only show improvement over the outstanding outcomes we achieved in 2009, but demonstrate our ability to consistently maintain both our client’s population engagement levels and health risk improvements over multiple years.    
 
Employee Engagement Rate /Total Coaching Interactions - Employee Engagement means actively working, with our wellness coaches, through the stages of change to improved lifestyle behaviors and associated health risks.
 
·          We coached 90%+ of all eligible employees = 45,000+ EE’s per year, during 2009, 2010 and 2011. 
 
·          We had over 500,000 one-on-one coaching interactions per year, during 2009, 2010 and 2011.
 
·          We averaged over 11 interactions per employee coached each year during 2009, 2010 and 2011.
 
Key Improvements in Employee Population Health Risk Factors for 2011, include:
 
·          56,000 health risk factors were improved, compared to 55,000 in 2010 and 41,000 in 2009
 
  • 1.2 health risk factors improved for every eligible employee, compared to 1.1 in 2010 and 0.9 in 2009
 
·          24,000 employees improved their blood pressure, compared to 24,000 in 2010 and 19,000 in 2009 
 
·          16,000 employees lost a combined 173,000 lbs, compared to 16,000 (164,000 lbs) in 2010 and 12,000 (119,000 lbs) in 2009  
 
·          9,200 employees increased their weekly exercise, compared to 8,900 in 2010 6,500 in 2009
