WellNet Healthcare Group Reaches 100 Percent Client Enrollment in Cloud Technology

BETHESDA, Md. (Nov. 1) — Many companies are struggling to marshal cloud-based technology to manage and deliver their health benefits.

But not Bethesda, Md.-based WellNet Healthcare Group. In partnership with affiliate software developer Healthcare Interactive (HCI), WellNet now manages health benefits for all of its nearly 300 clients in a secure, cloud-based computing environment.

"Cloud-based technology is revolutionizing the health benefits space by allowing unprecedented levels of collaboration among employees, employers and health care providers," said Keith Lemer, President of WellNet Healthcare Group. "WellNet is leading the way in the adoption of this technology and is proving that operating health plans through the cloud is a money-saver."

According to the CDW 2011 Cloud Computing Tracking Poll, less than a third of health care organizations use the cloud to power their operations. But this small group of companies has been able to generate big savings — an average of 20 percent each year.

"Through the cloud, we're able to deliver in-depth analysis of our employer clients' health care data without compromising patients' privacy  and then implement proven solutions to help them slash their health expenses," Lemer said. "Employers are quickly seeing that cloud-based analytics are far more cost-effective than conventional site-based approaches. The cloud is just beginning to evolve for health care. At WellNet, we're capitalizing on the technology as a means of alleviating the national health-cost crisis that's currently plaguing American business."
