Meet Pat - a woman in a major career transition, with a huge heart who generously gives herself to her loved ones and her community. We explored Pat's signature strengths - Love, Forgiveness, Citizenship, Spirituality, and Kindness - and noted that her strengths are primarily other-focused. It wasn't surprising that Pat wanted to use our coaching session to figure out how to include more self-care.

As we reviewed her strengths, we confirmed that in many cases she honors her own needs at both work and home. But, in the middle of her current career and life transition, Pat is feeling overwhelmed. She is also noticing the negative effects of not getting enough sleep or exercise, and unhealthy eating habits triggered by this transition.

Most importantly, Pat is aware of the grief she is feeling about leaving behind her colleagues of 20+ years. While she is eager and hopeful about the change, she is grieving the life she will leave behind. Pat has built two decades of memories in her current role and feels gratitude for the relationships and the impact she has made.

Noting the importance of allowing space for grief, by the end of our session, Pat was committed to embracing it and allowing herself to experience it more fully.

Next week, we'll hear Pat's reflections on the coaching session and what's happened since.
